A Message from the Executive Director Our mission is to ensure that our long-term care system creates good jobs and provides elders and people with disabilities with the supports necessary to lead their lives to their maximum capacity. Like you, the DCA uniquely understands the national urgency to support direct-care workers, promote the value of their work and strengthen their voices in the long-term care industry. So, whether your organization is an established worker association or a newer organization, we know that worker associations, like the DCA, are committed to improving jobs for direct-care workers. As one method of supporting workers, consumers and employers, the DCA aims to create tools that will assist existing and forming direct-care worker associations with achieving their core mission. This aim is a part of our larger strategy of building and supporting multi-stakeholder coalitions that work to strengthen the long-term care workforce. In doing so, we hope to solicit your input and collaboration within the Organizational Survey of Direct-Care Worker Associations as we expand our efforts and develop tools for worker associations. We at the DCA applaud the work that you and other organizations around the country are doing to improve the quality of jobs for direct-care workers. We sincerely appreciate your time and attention. Executive Director, DCA |
